We do not sell your personal information for money. However, like most businesses that advertise online, we use advertising tools from Google, Meta, and other platforms that collect information about your visit through cookies and pixels and use it to show you our ads elsewhere. Under California law, that counts as “sharing” personal information for cross context behavioral advertising, and it has occurred in the past 12 months. We also sometimes upload contact lists in protected, hashed form to advertising platforms so we can reach our contacts or people similar to them, and California’s broad definitions mean that activity may count as a sale or sharing too.
We have no actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and we extend this opt out to everyone regardless of where you live.
There are two parts to opting out, and you can use either or both. In your browser: choose Reject all on the cookie notice when it appears, or open Your Privacy Choices at the bottom of the page and turn off Advertising. That stops the advertising pixels on this browser right away, clears the tracking cookies we can reach, and is remembered on this browser and device for 12 months. No account, no email, and no extra information are needed. For our contact lists: email Team@JoelDavidRE.com with the subject line Opt Out and tell us your name and the email address or phone number you used with us, or call us at (626) 736-1817. When we receive your request, we stop including your information in any future contact list uploads to advertising platforms, ask those platforms to remove you from any custom audiences we created, and suppress your information from this activity going forward. We act on opt out requests as soon as we can, and never later than 15 business days.
A note on how the browser choice works: it is saved on the browser and device where you made it, so if you use another browser or device, make the choice there too. Clearing your cookies also clears your saved choice, and the cookie notice will ask you again. Advertising platforms may still show you ads based on information they gathered before you opted out or from other websites; opting out here stops this site from sharing anything further with them.
You never need to create an account to opt out. You may use an authorized agent to submit the request for you; we will ask for proof that you gave the agent permission. Opting out costs nothing, and we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or give you lesser service because you opted out.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information on that browser. On pages that carry our cookie notice, no advertising or visit measurement tools load, no notice is shown, and a message on the page confirms that your opt out request was honored. On any page where the cookie notice has not yet been added, the GPC signal still switches off the Meta pixel and tells Google that consent is denied, so no advertising cookies are set. If you later choose Accept all on our cookie notice, that choice applies on that browser until you change it or 12 months pass. We do not respond to the older Do Not Track signal because it has no common standard.
